  • Charles Mardon

    Managing Director

    As a Director of Sovereign Financial Partners, I oversee the effective running of the business, working closely with the management and administration team.

    I founded Sovereign Wealth LLP in 2007 and we acquired Sovereign Money Matters Limited in 2012. Following a number of new business acquisitions, we formally rebranded the business to Sovereign Financial Partners Limited with effect from 1st August 2020.

    I believe that every client has individual needs and requirements; we ensure that we tailor any recommendations to provide bespoke portfolio management solutions, working alongside clients’ own solicitors and/or accountants where required.

  • Janette Mardon | Bsc (Hons) BA (Hons)

    Commercial Director

    Janette is proud to have co-founded Sovereign Wealth and currently works as the Commercial Director for Sovereign Financial Partners. With almost 20 years’ experience within the Financial Services industry, she remains passionate about driving the business forward with innovative products and services, and a strong focus on client service.

    Fostering a positive culture within the business is key to Janette’s role, leading and developing a team that is driven by their desire to give excellent service, ensuring that clients find bespoke solutions to their financial needs.

    Overseeing business strategy and services, Janette is driven to ensure each staff member and adviser has the tools available to adapt their service to an individual client’s needs.

  • Paul Hursthouse

    Group Operations Director

    Paul has 20 years of operational experience in wealth management, across a wide range of business models and scale, at senior management and board level. He holds an economics degree from Durham University.

    He has held senior positions in; regional IFA, discretionary fund management, vertically integrated, private equity backed and publicly listed firms, during the course of his career to date.

    The Group Operations Director role is a strategic appointment to support the business in achieving its ambitious vision and business plan aims.

    Key responsibilities include devising, communicating and implementing the strategic business plan and improving efficiencies in processes and improving the productivity of staff, ensuring exceptional client outcomes are at the heart of everything we do.

  • John Hayden

    Recruitment and Acquisitions Director

    My focus is providing a first-class consultancy service to Financial Services businesses in the UK with a key focus on Mergers and Acquisitions.

    I also provide consultancy services for Recruitment, Marketing, Sales and Operations based on 35 years in the sector and a dozen key Board and Director positions at most of the leading FS Networks and IFA’s over the last three decades.

    As an experienced financial services professional with a wealth of experience in proposition development, marketing, sales and recruitment and a founding director of two major networks and CEO of independent adviser firm, I am pleased to be working alongside Sovereign Financial Partners and Sovereign Wealth based in West Yorkshire.

    My focus is the recruitment of quality Advisers and profitable IFA Businesses to the group.

    I’m a keen sportsman and marathon runner. I have raised over £20,000 for Macmillan, local children’s hospice and National Star Centre.

  • Kevin Grogan

    Compliance Director

    Kevin joined Sovereign Financial Partners as Compliance Director in October 2018 having previously worked in Compliance and Training & Competence roles with Brown Shipley, Tilney, Towry and Edward Jones.  

    An experienced compliance professional, Kevin is a degree qualified director with leadership experience gained in the aerospace, telecommunications, financial services and volunteer sectors.

    In his spare time Kevin participates in fell and ultra-marathon running events with his partner, Jackie, and daughter, Heather.

  • Frank Orlinski

    Adviser

    Frank has been in the Wealth Management industry for over 40 years, with over 30 years of experience in the independent sector. 

     His philosophy is simple: to ensure financial peace of mind for you and your family across the generations by providing a highly personalized service, with the aim of ‘earning the right’ to be considered as your trusted financial adviser for many years to come. 

    In his spare time Frank likes to pursue his hobbies: skiing, scuba diving (instructor) and long distance target shooting.

  • Peter Webster

    Adviser

    Peter has been in Financial services nearly 40 years, the last 24years as an IFA and Partner at Stones McCourt LLP.
    He has been married to Sylvia for 44 years and they have 2 married girls and 3 granddaughters who live in South Wales.
    He is Chairman of Barnsley Brass and has played Trombone in brass bands for 57 years, maybe not surprising coming from the village of Grimethorpe. He is a Past President of Barnsley Junior Chamber and a Senator in JCI UK.
    He likes being in his Motorhome and has achieved 80% of his aim to go round the coastline of England and Wales.
    He also likes to watch most sports and plays badminton every Friday morning.
  • Matthew Fox

    Adviser

    Matthew has over 25 years of experience providing financial advice tailored to a client’s individual requirements.

    He is passionate about delivering bespoke solutions set out simply and clearly, and ensuring clients benefit from ongoing service and support to make sure their financial arrangements continue to meet their needs and objectives.

    In his spare time Matthew enjoys cycling, running and watching sport.

  • Lisa Denton

    Adviser

    Lisa successfully completed her training to become a financial advisor in 2005. She has since developed her career in wealth management,  joining Sovereign MM in January 2020.

    Lisa prides herself on building strong client relationships which is her key strength and passion in her role. She is experienced to provide advise across all areas of financial planning.

    In her spare time Lisa enjoys travelling, socialising with friends, family time and dancing.

  • Damion Keyworth

    Adviser

    Damion entered the financial services in 1999 with Aviva before progressing his career and becoming an independent financial adviser in 2011.

    Damion believes in building strong relationships with clients and provides them with a full financial planning experience, putting together a comprehensive plan showing what their financial future looks like. He is experienced to provide advice across all areas of financial planning and specialises in retirement planning and later life advice.

    In his spare time he likes family holidays, socialising and watching football.

  • Samantha Lowe

    Team Leader

    Sam has worked in Financial Services for over 25 years across various companies in different capacities from Administration, Sales Support, Paraplanning and Office Management along with being a Mortgage Adviser for 4 years.

    Sam has just completed the Couch to 5K program and is looking at hopefully completing a half marathon next year for charity.  Sam is an avid tennis fan and was fortunate to win centre court tickets for Wimbledon last year which was an unforgettable experience.

  • Julie Bolton

    Administration

    Julie is a Senior Administrator, she  provides administrative support to our advisers. Julie also  provides clients with updated valuations and case progress.

    Julie has considerable experience in this area and has been working with Sovereign Money Matters since 2006.

    In her spare time Julie enjoys socialising with friends and trying to keep fit by going to her local gym. 

  • Daniel Smith

    Paraplanner

    Daniel is a Trainee Paraplanner and provides support to the Advisers.  Whilst at University, he took a summer job working in an IFA practice and decided to pursue a career in this sector.

    He is currently studying towards a Diploma in Regulated Financial Advice  working towards becoming a Financial Adviser. 

    He enjoys watching football in his spare time and runs long distance events throughout the year.

  • Sarah Burton

    Administrator

    Sarah is a Senior Accounts Administrator. She was a paraplanner for an IFA for 10 years before the business was acquired by Sovereign in 2016. 

    Sarah is a local having been born and bred in Doncaster.

    She likes to do craft projects in her spare time when not number crunching for the business.

  • Helen Lucas

    Administrator

    Helen has worked in the Financial Sector for over 25 years, with over 20 years’ experience in the Independent Sector.

    I like to pride myself with forming strong relationships with clients and getting to know everyone on a first name basis.

    I like to spend my spare time with my Husband, three children, family and going for long walks with our dog.
  • Leigh Walker

    Administrator

    Worked with Stones McCourt IFA for 18 years working my way up to office manager where over the years was admin manager for up to 8 Advisers.

    Left school with my GCSE’s and always worked in admin roles since – also completing My NVQ Level 2 in Business Admin.

    In my spare time enjoy going on holidays with my partner and to watch my beloved Sheffield United.
